The Difference Between A Flower and A Weed

By dawn I felt your floral hue,
A tulip of two-toned favoritism.
Duality, unlike the majority-
You were picking the daisy chains
Sprouted from their daydream fodder.

Afternooning, well-spent spooning,
I got to know you far too well,
For tulips or two-toned hearts,
And from that floral arrangement-
Your colors wilted without my consent
To a weed of a man-

A judgement was all I gave,
And a judgement was all it took,
To shift my face,
And change your place,
In my eyes:

From high and mighty,
Or just high and flighty.
No blame on your part,
I held the clippers to take the garden apart.

A change of mind,
I exchanged my time,
Took control of my life,
Without the delusion
Of fuchsia blooms at midnight.
