Requiem for A Digital World

Robert G Dewberry 1955 (Baltimore Maryland)

October 22

How came it to be writing cursive
Is now an act deemed so subversive?
Block chain, block print, geometry...
From these reigns can we ever be free?

Radio Star by video erased
Foretold an analog world displaced
If I would flee such digital death
Perhaps I can focus on my breath

In and out like a billows it flows
Giving more rest than silken pillows
From a wearisome world of thinking
If my focus remains unshrinking

And from a promontory breathless
In empyrean glory deathless
My mind no longer writes a story
With digits full of sound and fury

Great rhyming and loved the incorporation of the Radio Star reference.
