REIGN OF SILENCE

Ali muhammad Al-Hussaini 1996 (Bemina, Srinagar, Kashmir)

Reign of Silence
Voices throttled, hick ups reign in ‘Khamooshi’
Wish I a tiptoe walk & a talk seen in ‘Khamooshi’
Lub dubs whisper, my core shudders & ears up
To hearken feeble pants, have been in ‘Khamooshi’
Should I befriend mirror or the deaf-mute river!
Where you dry sobs bewet when lean in
‘Khamooshi’
Your ferocious teeth are not obsecure, you
scream
Strike rocks, who cares! Is your scene in
‘Khamooshi’
My candle flames tedious bearing wax on delicate
hand
Wishing an ‘Aah’ released out of teen in
‘Khamooshi’
I asked and asked to the dribbling tears of
remorse
Why your spring has shrunk, lost sheen in
‘Khamooshi’!
Replied, my source is bloody bandaged, who
differs fall!
‘Ali’ wear my grief & know what I mean in
‘Khamooshi’
