Ode To Auntie

This is an Ode to Aunt Emily
She was kind an loving as can be
Always sharing with her Sister Grandma Chinnery
Bringing cooked food or things from her pantry
Recently I was told she dressed like me
Loving colors bright as can be
My favorite thing about her was her memory
At times had to pause or get back to me
She was classy an unforgettable
Again her memory was unbelievable
I was amazed with all she could tell me
I cant explain it, it was something to see
My dear you were so traditional
Your mouth was truly unstoppable
My dear you have done well, your job here is done
I pray you are with Grandma together having some fun.

I voted for this poem because i identified with it... I too am an Auntie and I found it homely and comforting.Old people can have amazing memories of their childhood and as they age, these are brought to the forefront.Old folk love to chat about their childhood or experiences to younger members.
