My savior

My savior
There are these battles I fight
I fight them to get to the light
All these battles they occur in my head
Maybe, maybe they just want me dead
And on the other end with wide open eyes
Are all the demons of my life in pure disguise

Sometimes the demons are memories of people I've lost
They come to me and ask for a cost
Sometimes they're just bare thoughts in a void
The thoughts I often tend to avoid
Sometimes they're just questions like do I know who I am?
They whisper to me that my mere existence is a scam

I fight, I fight,
I always fight with all my might
I fight till I'm miserable and unarmed,
But they still stand there tall and unharmed

The one that saves me from these battles is my inner self
She's always there whenever I need help
Everytime I realise I'm falling apart
She comes through and holds my heart
She asks me to put up my guard
And hands me the biggest sword
We enter the battlefield barred,
And she walks me towards victory deeply scarred
I don't know how she does it, but she's so good at it you see
Maybe because she's a bit more brave than I can ever be
She never asks for anything in return
She just says " don't let our existence burn"
And "just smile through it all" and then
"My love I will never let you fall"
