Menses - why not happiness?

Just as people adore actors and not the director,
So does society see pregnancy, but not the struggle for years.
The 12-year naive girl suddenly is a women's reflector,
baffled and frightened about what happened to her.

The one who couldn't see blood on the knee while playing in mud,
The one who cried out loud due to the slightest injuries,
has to hold her tongue despite the uncontrollable flow of blood,
she has muted herself, even when she senses thunder in her abdomen.

Juggling well the balls of mood swings, body aches and muscle pain,
She swings around like a feather, concealing all the agony.
The week of dark clouds, storms and heavy rain,
is handled as perfectly as an art made by Picasso.

Weeks of non-appreciative struggle finally bears the sweet fruit,
The noise of joy and happiness is the reward she gets,
for successfully walking through the thorny route.

About this poem

Being optimistic is good BUT sometimes it's important to be realist. To be practical. To see 360°. Which is mostly overlooked. "A stone is broken by the last stroke of a hammer. This doesn't mean that other strokes were useless." Similarly, the monthly menses are not useless. It is essential. It needs the same amount of attention, care and appreciation.
