It's alright.

Jannat Chugh 2004 (Jalalabad west)

In life , there are some feelings,
when you think of ,
You can always feel .
For , there are some wounds ,
that never heal.

But let me tell you ,
It's alright.
Alright to feel ,
Alright to cry ,
'cause what you've been through,
has not been
an easy fight.

Today , let me pour my heart out
For , I could not ,
When I wanted to shout .

I was 15 , things were good .
Everything being ,
As it should .

Then a night came over ,
no less than a turnover .

I could feel a touch that was not apt ,
But my mind and body were now too numb to act.

For , that was someone familiar ,
I could not believe,
what I did encounter.

My faith in everything shattered down ,
Feelings numbed , as of a clown .

The moment I felt it was for real ,
I shook those hands at once
but I could not sleep for months ,
I swear.

My hands tremble , they still do ,
as I write this .
'cause little did I know ,
I had to fight this.

I was rubbed at my chest ,
Did it really happen?
I could not digest.

I don't know why
But I wore a smile so I didn't have to share .
But inside, I was all shaken up ,
this heart needed some care.
