Hope

Muhammad Zaid Aslam 2009 (Moradabad (dist.), Uttar Pradesh)

Hope is what keeps me going
it is what makes me breathe
Hope is what stairs my motives
it is what makes me live

What if I live tomorrow
or what if I miss the next Sunrise What if I sail through today
Or what if I see the last moonrise

To bring food on my table
I cook on the fire of hope
To prevent burying my breath
I keep up the pyre of hope.

But sometimes it goes dim
in the darkness gloom and cries
no matter what I do
Hope dumps all my tries.

I may die I may live
I may cry I may smile
But what keeps me all alive
is my hope that stays
untill life's last mile....
