Fall

Donna Marie Agum 1992 (Bongao, Tawi-Tawi)

Fall
By: Donna  Marie  Agum

I don’t know why leaves change colour in the Fall
and they silently tumble down
with golden flames in piles on the ground.

As I look outside the window,
Hillsides show breathtaking views
Days become shorter
Nights become longer
Oh! Summer where did you go?
Why it’s hard to let you go?

But now I know why they change colour in the fall
For you to move forward and forget it all
I embrace and harness the pain
with contentment
Like a sinking ship with disenchantment
I hope in this fall
I won’t fall
‘Cause it’s hard to remove you all ….
