ENTANGLED

Painted with black, wrapped with a cloth of penury
Taken by the hand leading down into the murk
Transparency hidden, efforts buried
The devastation was the walls built around it.

Turning left seems so worse, as affliction penetrated it deeply
Right showcase its ability, swallowing up gross persistently
Backward signifies its existence, showing itself after a series of attempts
The front seems to carry impossible as it keeps pushing the efforts aside, winking at it with levity.

Higgledy-piggledy as a state, we searched for where to run to
Walking to and fro, finding where our help comes
But it seems without light, as darkness shows its face in the entangled form
Blurry with no vision, little and some lack of knowledge of who the light is
Christ, the light which lies the know-all.

Everything seems to be too enticing, owning not all is the title
Hastily wealth was the thinking, while planning is nowhere to be found
Luxuries we wish for, adequate preparations we do not plan for
Friends we follow, in no time we want to blow
Stardom we want, a character we have none.

Destiny cannot be changed, the saying heard every day
Yet, death keeps coming even at the times when one keeps hoping
It can't end being ruined, yet hopelessness keeps kissing itself
Gluing to the tip of clothes, leaning on shoulders of oneself

Far away seems to be the sun, as night never ceases to end
While the sun shines we make hay, yet the right isn't seen
Doing all alright, but wrongs keep being a best friend
Dwelling and bringing in hope, yet knows not we when gross will end

Messed, it keeps getting messed up
Even the future is nothing to be written on
Complicated and confusing everything has become

What about the promises from the government?
Bastardized and abandoned have been the result
Let revolution takes its place, so we can have a future to face
Making transparency take its place
Away entangled we want, starting afresh from the source
Because now is the future.

About this poem

Poverty is something no one wished for, it makes one lose his or her self-esteem. It brings one into a hopeless state.
