Collateral damage

Jeffrey Powell 1979 (Pittsburgh, PA)

October 22

How is there order in this chaos -
I can barely breathe
That speck of dust
which landed thus
is definitely out of place

How can you find what you're looking for -
I can scarcely move
That mound of junk
upon your bunk
screams this is not a phase

How do I resist when I'm being crushed -
I remember when there was room
That here once contained
no trace of disdain
Only now anxiety stays

About this poem

OCD hurts more than the afflicted.

Jeffrey Powell

A bit of an introvert, Jeffrey enjoys using words and poetry as an outlet for expressing his thoughts and feelings. Jeffrey lives with his fraternal twin whom he enjoys sharing a laugh with at the opportune time. more…

Honestly, myself, l am intrigued by the multitudes present here and can go on a clip reading and exploring, so I'm grateful this platform exists at all. Also, just curious if you may be left handed? -As l find your work very creative and cerebral...

"He tends to play by his own rules and darts in and out of the civilized world,"

That is me all day long.

Love the poetry, man. You've got the knack for sure. I'll be on the lookout for future work.

    Peace....

Be patient. Sadly a lot of good poetry gets overlooked. Most folks are looking to be seen more than to see. That is the reality. I've been here awhile and only get a few views myself. Just hang in there and get your name and work out there as much as possible and people will start to take notice.
