Bee Hovering

An empty world in a dark hole,
spends her day ashore
till, clanging, clattering on the
latched and rusted chill door

Widening an eye, while waiting for
lost in a land not known,
Rinsing and repeating, until
bee in the hive has not grown.

Dredge out, the dowdy winter,
Dopamine, in the attic, sinter,
Let gravity dour wherever it leads,
So, the seeds shall morph into swell weeds,

Set free, do not catch,
wiggle them out
or once again, catch a few,
to vie them in a joust,

ready the palette, and then, let one
win to become the queen,
drench the snowy terrain: tones
of sapphire, with emerald, and green.

About this poem

“Bee Hovering” is about inspiration, creativity, and the creative process. A writer’s head is like an empty universe at first, and then he usually takes himself to a dark and silent place where there is nothing but a blank page and the writer’s waves of desire that continues to strike him to write. It is written as a metaphor for creative thoughts and inspiration, which appear to come from an unknown source within the conscious mind. The poem portrays the bee in abstract terms, exhibiting the capacity to bring a concrete new world to life on the page.
