A lost love

Amber Nicole White 1984 (Michigan)

Wind blown hair, blue-green eyes, blood stained clothing, a song for cries. Lying in my arms so close to my heart, my one true love and I were ready to part. Middle of a sad Metallica song, heart beat slowing fast, my one true love uttered his last. "I love you my baby Amberley, one day you will join me." I remember his touch, I remember his caress, making love was something of the best. His touch will now fade and always remain far, looking back to that night in the Ghetto in the car, shot three times, three blows to the head, my one true love, my baby James is dead.

About this poem

A poem I wrote when I was 16 years old about my boyfriend James. I just found this poem in my box of poems that I haven't went through in over 20 years. I am now 38 years old and I oftentimes think of what he would be like now if he wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time.
