A Cave

A cave,
running deep,
dark and cold,
but not lonely,
there are creatures,
they sleep during the day,
keeping her up all night,
as you go deeper,
you will find it,
the source,
it would be easier to snuff it out,
but no one has ever come close,
not even her.

A cave,
empty yet full,
something always consuming her,
and when the stars start to glisten,
it consumes them too.

A cave,
sometimes black,
sometimes blue,
rarely yellow,
mostly red.

A cave,
oh so ready to be filled up,
oh so ready to be forgotten.

About this poem

It's about a time in my life when I was mostly angry and not happy. I felt empty and I thought I was bringing the people around me down too.
