HOPE
GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)
The strong conviction of better things
The warm feeling of future victory
The sweet expectation of felicitations
The irrational belief in the impossible
The heartbeat of the dying
The bread of the starving
The freedom of the bonded
The balm of mortal wounds
The grease of the laborer's elbow
The muscle of the wounded soldier
The lifebuoy of the drowning
The good God's gift
The winning hand of the gambler
The lucky number of the lottery player
The heads in the flip of a coin
The one in a million shot
The silver lining in the dark clouds
The shining pearl in the dark depths
The moonlight in the dark night
The phoenix in the ashes
The most delicious when freshly cooked
The most bitter when burnt
The most invigorating during birth
The most lethargic during death
The bleaker the misery
The warmer its embrace
The darker the despair
The brighter its flare
Hope.
