Sand

I don't like sand —its gritty, irritating, and it gets everywhere
I don't like the deep water of the ocean—its vast, uncharted, unknown, scary.
I don't like the sun for the way it beats down, baking sand and sea and those who've made the mistake of falling asleep in the surf.

I don't like the seaborne tangles in my hair, the sunburn on my back, the sand in my shoes but god damn, if the beach isn't one of the most beautiful places I've seen.
