Always Is Not Always Always

We sit and take comfort,
To routines that stay...
A way of life followed,
From one day to another.
Anticipating to await,
For those already scheduled holidays.
With excitement and joy.
As if them to come is a surprise!
Although each one,
Is planned before the doing comes done.
Yet...
Always is not always the always to be.
Creating confusion.
Introducing change.
And some left with disbelief.
That their plans made already scheduled,
Has been interfered...
With their normal way of life to live.

Many drugged and addicted,
To life lived on their ususal routines.
Become shocked, dismayed and horrified.
Unprepared for the 'always' to change.
To sit then wonder why.
Some will go to a calendar to verify,
Not only the day but also the year.
Then call family, friends and neighbors.
Just to be sure and make clear,
That they too had been affected...
By an event that has appeared.

'Hi.
Hello.
It's just me.
Last night I was watching TV.
And the weather man said nothing,
About rain to expect today.
Is it raining there too?
What do you mean,
Look across the street
What will that prove?

Oh...
That's right.
You do live across the street.
I apologize.
Forgive me.
I'm going through one of those,
Senior moments.
It's true.
Yes.
I understand.
No, I'm okay.
I won't be needing any company.
I had been planning to take a walk.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
For all of us.
You take it easy too!
Bye.'

God?
Why didn't you warn me,
About this growing older aging business?
You left me with no date, time...
Or when to expect my unsuspecting mind,
To allow me to make that announcement.

And...
With a neighbor who tells me,
Aging done...
Takes a while to do it gracefully.

No one said a thing.
Not even a clue or hint.
About...
Being publicly embarrassed first!

Geeessshhh.
Well...
I'm only 75.
Yet...
Don't feel a day over 70!
Oh, well...thanks alot!
Don't get me wrong, Dear Father.
I'm still feeling blessed and grateful.
A little forgetful but blessed.
