Harassed Into Humility

Sometimes it takes,
Being embarrassed and harassed.
With this done to do publicly.
Making it known,
One's ignorance and stupidity shown...
Condoned to own it.
Is nip in the bud.
In the presence of humility,
Taking over immediately.
To see a fool become humble.
Well...
The attempt is tried anyway.

And...
No one observing to witness this,
Can claim to say...
They never had similar experiences.
Although...
Not too many,
Will take it upon themselves...
In public to quickly admit,
Either from a podium or pulpit.
Or...
Have the audacity
To get up from where they sit.
To stand on a table,
In the midst of a crowded restaurant...
Where those are drawn to pay attention.
And quick.
Announcing to all to clearly hear,
Of being of unfaithful to a spouse or mate.
While celebrating their anniversary.
To then introduce and proudly,
Their lover to others unknown.

'Stand up, baby.
I want you to meet my wife,
Her sister.
And their brother...
Over there standing in the buffet line.
Yeah.
The one looking as if,
We had not been intimate.

We use to fool around alot.
A long time ago.
Before I became faithful,
To my marriage vows!
At that time,
I promised to keep that to ourselves.
And then...
He was arrested and sent to prison.
For doing something crazy.'

'JUST HOW STUPID,
CAN A STUPID FOOL BE?'

'Stupid?
I'm being honest.
What's wrong with that?
At least I'm not sneaking around,
Like everybody else.
And you know who you are.
And...
So do I.
Now...
Let's enjoy ourselves and have a good time!
With a hoping to forget and forgive,
Our lustful temptating ways.
Amen?
AMEN!'

'Come here.
Sit down.
Why would you get up.
And say something like that?
Knowing none of it is true.'

'I got bored.'
