A big red sphere
floats upward
appearing
from under the horizon
struggling
silently
effortlessly
to spread
life-giving rays
sliding
majestically
across the sky
marking the passage
of time through space
Destination reached
the sky turns
a myriad of shades
from vibrant yellows
to passionate purples
sounds
the splash
the fizzle
as it sinks
beneath the waves
pulling
a blanket
distant stars
over the sleeping land
until...
once again
the birds sing
of its journey
through the eye
