Luke Yates 2003
Dancing to the sound of the music,
Spinning into the lights,
Home appeared in the distance.
Monday was waiting for the coroner,
Who would continue to wait for me
To make my way home.
She called for me that night,
Convinced me that her light
was worth dancing for,
Showed me the wings of an angel,
Wings I had seen before.
I wanted to meet her there,
Like we used to,
Before she took that away from me,
From us.
She is there with him,
Waiting, I’ve been told,
Wanting to welcome me back
To where I belong.
