Searching

Jamie Brown 1986 (Montgomery,Alabama)

Do you ever find yourself lost and wondering within?!
I turn around and close my eyes oh where do I begin.
I've been waiting all this time. Is it me you are trying to find ?
Do the tears that fill my eyes scare you away or are they just passing time each and everyday .
I wonder in my mind will I ever be enough or will I just be looked over again and thrown away like dust.
The colorful walls and the smell of flowers all around . The birds chirping and singing what a beautiful sound.
My eyes fill with tears at the thoughts of the world and my knees they hit the ground I’m just a lost lady in this big lonely world. Looking to the sky. Trying to count the stars hoping for a sign and Trying to fill that void.
Is it me you are looking for after all this time ? Am I the one you have been searching for and couldn't seem to find?
Do your  eyes light up like the stars in the sky or the brightness of the moon when you begin to close your eyes.
The wanting of your presence no matter far or near. The worry in my mind knowing you will disappear.
So tell me now is it me you are trying to find ? Does the thought of my name ever cross your mind .
Can you feel it in your heart don’t you know we aren’t all the same. Or are the clouds in the sky making you take the blame.
If you listen closely you will hear the whisper of the winds .The freshness of the air telling you that this is where you begin. Is it me you have been searching for for all of this time? The one who seems to always get left behind.
