Red
He’s hated home
Hated the brick, hated the floors
Hated everything about it
When the call came he rejoiced that he can leave
Excited for adventure and stories
Can’t wait to see the green earth
But when he saw what war actually was
The horrors he saw
Committed
Committed in the name of his country
He always heard screams, crying, insane laughter
Explosions on this black earth
Smells that will never leave his mind
Sights that will never leave his eyes
All he wanted to do now was go home
But red covered what once was a beautiful uniform
All he wanted to do now was go home alive and not die on this hellscape that was somehow glamorized
