Taking Centuries To Face

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Why should it take,
Centuries to face...
Truth for what it is.
It appears everywhere.
Going nowhere to disappear.

And senseless it is,
For the many defending themselves against it.
When pretending to delude and fiction,
A truth that isn't.
With a claiming to protect,
Their right to be upset.
They feel a being threatened.
By those who object to reject,
What has been fantasized...
Has clearly begun to ruin a way of life,
To ignore the truth of it.
The go out of their way to blame and claim,
Truth is the cause and reason...
Why today's children,
Are being indoctrinated to believe...
What they see on the internet.
Done to validate everywhere on the streets.
Should be censored to protect,
A childhood already exposed by reality.

Whose trying to keep,
Who from what and why?
Since truth does not deceive or lie.
Although...
Attempts are tried.
And the buying of the best medication,
If not time released.
Can be an expensive investment,
To prevent and keep...
Truth away to stay that way permanently.

'What is the problem?'

'It's all this talk about truth.
And that is the problem,
Causing mental illness.'

'And all this time,
Many had begun to believe...
It had been fiction to delude and lies told!
There is nowhere today anyone can go.
To just stay crazed.
Alone and by themselves.
You know...
Isolated.
Without affecting anyone else.
With a doing of it appropriately.'

'I...huh?'
