Losing To Win

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Losing to win.
Begins.
With a learning to want,
To be more self disciplined.
And accepting to hear,
From others who criticize...
One unprepared to realize,
Criticism given and heard to hear...
Often comes from another.
Who too had to lose to know,
What it takes to win.
A winning that begins by listening.
And this not to do again and again,
Slowers the process of a progress to make.
That just may come to an end.
For a dream wished to get.
Done to want.
Yet without,
Repeated effort to endeavor it!
