Imagine wanting the best for someone and someone pushing you aside to achieve the best for themself.

Imagine wishing on the wishing stars to be with someone and someone wishing to lose you instead.

Imagine trying to bring out the best qualities of someone and someone stepping over you to be the best.

Imagine praying for the well-being of someone and someone leaving you to keep well.

Imagine hating everyone who hates someone and someone hating you to love everyone.

About this poem

Often, we try and keep trying to be the best version of ourselves hoping "someone" might acknowledge us at some point. We do the best we can and give our all to win over someone's friendship or trust or love. And often, that "someone" fails to understand us and moreover considers us as their Achilles' heel. This free-verse poem is a representation of unimaginable situations which ironically occur in most of our lives.
