The Man Without A Purpose

As I wake up in the morning, and look at my calendar I keep wondering is today the day? The Day that I Am the
Man, the Man Without A Purpose.  I'm a man who barely has time for himself, I wake up my cat, feed the other cats.

Three hours roll around, no time to idle, no time to think,
no time to write, just do household chores, no time for studying, all of my time just squeezed up dry, I only get two hours for solitude, my friends are like kites just flying away and into their apartments, houses and other homes with their girlfriends and wives, driving their cars.

I often wonder where is my car, my apartment, my job,
God must've passed me in favors. No, no, no. let's not
Think like, my loser life is my balance, my day is started
off eating my oats munching on my biscuits, dipping them in my tea. Is there a better day planned for this

Slick Rick; who wants to take shortcuts and beat a system that is rigged. I am trapped my by own
Millennialism and I can either the Man With A Purpose
Or The Man Without A Purpose.

About this poem

A Man in his early 40's struggles to get back on his feet after the Pandemic. He is trying to move back out of his parent's house and back into his apartment, the stock market as far as he knows hasn't crashed, but he desperately wants to be independent again and working in one of his favorite stores in their deli. He's suave and is a Casanova with occasional communication hiccups, but other than he's alright.
