THE LITTLE SAVIOUR.
At the early stage of my life,
I took it upon myself to create
a light.
Just like mother would fan and
fan a wet wood until it brings
forth fire,
I have been fanning out ideas
without knowing what it is to
be tired.
A light to lit up the dark shell
covering my generation.
Though, they filled my ear drums
with words of discouragement,
But without minding, I kept on
my supplications.
My mind was set, as well as
my goal.
Now, I have the mind set of
Scoring a goal.
Although my parents own
no title,
And I may be little.
But my hands are not tied too...
And my brain they conclude is
as sharp as a cuttle.
I was driven by a wheel of
determination,
And indeed I arrived at my
location.
Although the journey wasn't
Peaceful,
But I brought back the peace
to my little community.
JENNY DANIELS.
About this poem
It's a poem I wrote on August 16th, and a poem I love so much. This little saviour knew she has what it takes to create a light, and that alone kept on motivating her, and then she wasn't selfish, she wanted to take away the dark shell covering her people. So, in order to achieve a goal in life you must first be determined, know what you can do and what you can not, and then be selfless. The poem encourages, and this little saviour is one who we should always emulate. Don't forget, people are always there to discourage you, but it's up to you to give them a listening ear. more »
