Masked

Victory Udie 2002 (Calabar)

There's a ghost in my room
the first time I ever saw her
she made me play dirty little note games with her.
I thought this will be the end I see her.

She sneakily opens my door at night.
at first it looked like a friendly welcome.
now I'm being haunted.
she's always in my head, talking nosily
in languages I can't understand.

The ghost in my room
is trying to take control of every little thing I do.
Today she came as usual, like other days
choking me up like one of her most bizarre adventures.
