Lust

Gideon Akwose 1998 (Benue state)

Before 1900
 Our culture a strong backbone
Our bow and spear a defence
Shield by our shield
Justice is justice
To err is human and the punishment stings you

In 1900
Across the Atlantic, they sail
With a culture we couldnot understand
Though their lifestyle a luxury, their culture stinks
Indirect rule an exchange for exploitation
Our culture of justice is adulterated with pardon

1920 elective era
Divide and rule imposed
Representative to represent the thieves
North of the northern,
South of the white man
We suffer  these till date

1960,the green flag stands tall
Unity in diversity we claim
From dependent to ill-dependence
Political frivolities and greed displayed

1963, Republican nation
Free from white but caged by blacks

1966 era of peace by coercion
Mutiny and arson displayed
Like the Israelites we cry
A cry for freedom

1999, joy and celebration
Military to demote- cracy
Game of luxury,greed and penury
Visions of the 60's ends in the belly of men in their 80's.
