Lament of the hero

Our hearts are broken like a shattered pot of clay,
And our conscience buried in the deepest chamber of omambala

Evening of every night;
 the bloods of the innocents cries out in the darkest part of akpaka,
But there is no consoler

In the morning and at noon;
The poor and the oppressed cries out aba father,
But still there is no helper

Open wide your ears;  oh thou lands,  forest s,  and rivers of this coast,
 Intercede on our behalf before the gods,
For they know the best verdict.

For if am to judge as a human;
I fear I might wrong the righteous,
Or even the dead.

Note: omambala ( one of the biggest and ancient river in the Eastern part of Nigeria)
             Akpaka   ( one of the largest forest in the Eastern part of Nigeria).
