Into the call of darkness

I don’t want to be saved

From darkness,
even as I hear the eager growls, reminders of what is to be …

I wish I was a silky,
who really wanted to save her skin
To whom gold and silver and bright eyed boys were heaventhese things she would do anything thing to steal.

But I have passed
so many safe harbors,
so many could have beens
And yet I know my heart is still quietly seeking
Seeking darkness, her one warm dear old friend.

Why do I want you so, darkness,
Why do you pull me into the abyss

I know there is more to hear and see and think … but over time it all seems all the same this haze of smoke that has clouded my dreams.

My feet ever so fateful step one after the next, into a warm darkness that promises a dream. Why does light no longer match me, I know it’s supposed to be more real.

Where does do the fates call me,
Like the sailors following singing in the mist.

I know it’s all a toss up … my heart whisked to be you, surrounded by the perfect dream, my mind is quiet and distant, my feet eager to move

A part of me wishes for the person who is now lost to the wind

What is this pull that beckons me into
A darkness unknown
Why do I not give hands or wave to find a safety shore.

I glide on, into the new unknown
Without need of aid
Regardless of what may come
Which part of me needs fixing
Which part should be removed

Which part gives me courage
Guiding me into darkness
One foot after next … no matter what may come

Is this how soldiers perished … following a song
How ships have long disappeared once
Caught into ancient storms
How pirates called ship and darkness home …. A home that pulled so many into the eye of a storm

What’s in a storm, what’s in darkness
What does it have to offer you
That you are willing to leave your marbels … for the unknown

As if walking into darkness following the sirens call

Do you turn around
Rip out the heart
Or just the feet
Turn into the lock ness monster
Shed your skin and dive
Back into the dark deep
