Finding Your Greatness in a World of Hatred”

Candace Briscoe-Orphey 1986 (Lake Charles, Louisiana)

Trials are to become tribulations
For rising above life’s phased standstills
So why is Self Hate absorbed and untamed?
Shouldn’t Self Love be the key to sustaining it!
Realizations of envy is untouchable
Once you step into your light
It becomes greater when magnified
That attracts unnecessary destruction
The attempts to make it all subdue
Leads right back to questions which keeps burying you!

Created uniquely indeed
A fact instilled since childhood testimonies
Educated surpassed of many understandings
Yet attacks of hate still attempts to drown inner passions.
Should I respond with the triggers of their doings?
Nah the inner me say Leave them clueless!
Sustain it but Subdue it
No need to reveal your chapters that has regain a New light
Speak your song for those who seeks light

You are not your past
You are not what they assume
You are definite royalty, pass the teachings in school!
It shows from your feet to your physic
Through the majestic eyes and mind that makes you unique
The Self care has brought unto your empowerment
That infinite Self worth
You have defined into devouring it

Make this world your platform
Stamp your legacy
Become profound by it
Remain well rounded
You are unstoppable
Let no doubt steer you, negativity is oblivious
The understatement of a soul with such beauty
Let remain undetected
You are perfection
Some will become intimidated
But you are protected!

Never change it, You!
Your essence!
Your Aura!
You are written beyond human understanding
You are the ground rules of the future
You are the Generational Curse Breaker!
So Never stop growing
Never stop relearning
The beginning is here!
Your existence is of purpose!
To bring unto light of the hearts
Whom dwells darkness until you light shines near!

About this poem

This poem was during a time of me trying to define my purpose in life. To unveil the hidden questions I/we may ask ourselves as we grow in this world of mystery. To give encouragement to those who may overwhelm themselves in dark thoughts, due to their environment.
