Bukowski

There is no bravery in hatred, but
There is no courage in love.
Both are as easy as you make them, and
So human as to be laughable.
I'm not laughing.

I have hate, and I have love.
At times they crash together
Like waves breaking against
The California coast.
At others they are streams,
eroding silently and
drowning in silt.

I'm sick of losing myself to
One or the other -
Blindly making decisions
With a hand on the
Small of my back.
Nothing more than an animal.
