Lit
Silenced.
I listen to the dripping water sooth my heart,
as alarms start on out of time watches that make their move an hour too late,
Frates roar past in barrier cracking surges then get swallowed by the wind.
My foot strokes its twin in time to the clocks ticking.
Yet nothing seems to pour in.
Nothing but ceilings hopping with tiny boy feet.
And magpies falling into window frames.
Leather on wooden chairs squeaking and creaking like these old bones.
Noisy parcels getting crushed through the letterbox without a mercy knock.
I scratch at my ear as more of my thoughtlessness is tapped into the reality I see and hear.
I aspire to be a poet I think, while the sun preaches to the choir - You Broke It!
