Fall Back

The autumn leaves
Blow in the wind
And finally
I Can breath again

Feel the crispness In the air
Hoodies, boots and let down hair
Haunted houses for a scare
Ghosts and goblins everywhere

Jason, Freddy, Chucky, Mike
Billy (the puppet on the bike)
Ghost face, Pinhead, Evil Dead
Pennywise's giant head
Zodiac and Son of Sam
Leatherface and Candy Man
Jaws and Jeepers Creepers too
All of them are there for you

Pumpkin spice and pumpkin patch
Baseball toss and games of catch
Hunting, fishing, drive-ins, kissing
Name me one thing that I'm missing

Riding bikes into the night
Blanket forts and pillow fights
Twister, Sorry, Clue, Atari
G.I. Joe and Ken and Barbie

Trick or treating (from our car)
Hey, that house gives out full bars
Pillow cases, painted faces
Masks and hats and kids with braces

Candy apples, gum and cookies
Skipping school (or "playing hooky")
Bonfires we build together
Basketball and Football weather

Super special shopping deals
Movie nights and family meals
Grandma's cooking tastes the best
Cornbread, dressing and the rest

Raking leaves falling from trees
Double dutch and skinning knees
Walking dogs around the block
Gladly "falling back" the clock

I'm so splendid that it's here
This, my favorite time of year
Hope we enjoy it, one and all
This lovely little thing called Fall
