The 2nd Wind

The 2nd Wind

Gifted with another blessed day
In this 2022 year in August the 24th day.
Three Score and Six to be exact
With sincere acknowledgements to the one and only creator.
For it is special, marks day of advent.
In the wonderful creation: A transit Lounge, by the Lord Almighty; this fleeting world of ours!
The Journey thus far
Stamped with the ups and downs in life.
Bearing testimony with creases and lines in the physique
Evidencing encounters of hardship, tears, suffering, betrayals and failures.
And also thrust with successes, triumphs, humor, love and laughter too.
Traversing through periods of life spaces from Student, Sportsman (Boxer), and Policeman to Corporate Executive to aspiring disciple in matters mystical!
Destined gifts by the creator for which I bow and prostrate with humility and sincere appreciation
All of these gifts, good and bad have made me the ‘man’ I am.
Loved, valued and appreciated by some
Despised and envied by others.
For character traits, I possess!
Experienced and survived two major surgeries
When Three Score years, in milestone was attained.
The Lord Almighty did bestow blessings to endure.
Currently riding the crest of the Second Wind
With renewed goals and lifestyles.
Focusing and making up to the good Lord
For favors divine and spiritual.
In this riding of the God given Second Wind!

About this poem

Written on my 66th birthday, remembering the trials, tribulations and triumphs in the life journey thus far. Feel recharged with a second lease of life, in the background of two major surgeries with in the last five years.
