All I can do is smile

You held my hand as we walked
You just listened as I talked
Of going on far off adventures
From piloting spaceships
and running with smugglers
All you could do was smile

You were next to me as we walked
You still just listened as I talked
Of going on real life adventures
From flight ops, and bar hops
To surfing with my bro's
All you could do was smile

You were there as I walked
You continued to listen as I talked
About the pain and hurt, sometimes asking, " where have you gone?"
With tears in your eyes
All you could do was smile

You hold my hand as we walk
But now I just listen to you as you talk
About how much you love me and
Telling me how you've longed to hold my hand again
And all I can do is smile

About this poem
