Trapped

Belinda Richmond 1979 (Chicago)

“Help Me!” “For I am Trapped”

I feel like I am trapped between the

Beginning and the End,

The Start and the Finish,

The Up’s and Down’s

Like a Fly in a Venus Fly Trap,

Like a Mouse in a Mouse Trap.

East, West, North, and South,

I don’t know which way I should get out.

Like a maze I can’t get out,

I am trapped between the walls of doubt.

I am trapped between the walls of confusion

Everything to me seems like an illusion.

I reach out and touch to see if you are real

My life, my problems, and worries are

Things I just have to deal.

I am trapped between the walls of depression

It might be rough now but remember these are

just lessons.

I am trapped between the walls of Left and Right,

We ALL go through things which is part of Life,

But as I push forward I will reach the Light.

I am trapped between the walls of worry,

I can see the end but it seems so blurry.

So I blink my eyes and look once again,

With Patience and Guidance I made it to the End.

I am NO Longer Trapped because I am FREE,

It took patience and will and to only BELIEVE.

Like a Butterfly that flutters in the wind,

Like an Eagle that soars from end to end

Like the Sea Creatures swimming in the sea, and

The Civilization of people which is you and me,

We are Free to Be.
