This Filthy Horrible Place

Walking through the hallway that Monday morning with no motivation

She waves to her friends and pretends.

Pretends she doesn't feel the pressure, the loneliness.

The random pretty girl in her class that complimented her outfit made her day

The boy she was head over heels for was the only person that made her laugh.

He wore a bracelet w her name and for the first time, she felt special.

Her favorite teacher gave her an extension on the assignment.

And yet...

And yet, she felt unwanted and didn’t belong.

For some reason, just being in this filthy, horrible place called school did this to her.

But it wasn’t the place, it was the people, constantly judging as if it would make them feel better about themselves.

School. This filthy, horrible place called school.
