Beyond The Noise

I hear the trees whispering
as the wind, calls my name.
They talk to me, as I am capturing
the sounds of birds, while they proclaim.

Freedom is beyond an act of indulging
The true way of life, to not be denied.
The freedom I experience, is reassuring,
refreshing, yes, as the sounds are purified.

The flag glides in the wind, my blanket is covering
the breeze is delicate, autumn is arrived.

Beyond the noise, an American, honoring,
my citizens' duty, obeying the sounds, they abide.
The front porch, I arise on, as I am humbling
the experience to write in the company of refreshing
wind, chimes of birds, rustling of the wind,
beyond the noise of yesteryear.
