Carry On

Carry on my child the morning has come
Another long night of feeling useless and dumb
You seek a purpose while nothing seems to be found
Sometimes the demons come to see you
And you doubtfully hang around
It’s a cycle and it’s hard to walk away
To silence the voice in your head
And the stupid things it has to say
Late at night as you lay in bed
The chains of the critical thinker take hold
The stories of past and your forefathers are told
Deep in the depths of the dark chambers of your soul
On outstanding tablets of pure gold is chiseled your role
My child, please do not fret and do not worry
For death is coming towards you and it is in a hurry
