Treetop Salutes A Queen

Two room cabin; I sat upon Mugumo tree
No just fig tree; No just 300 old tree
Maybe a Hunter's lodge ; but I sat upon sacred tree
Heart within Aberdare forest;drinking  wildlife, I behold
Buffalo winks a good morning; elephant trumpets a good afternoon
Rhino huffs a good evening; Maw Maw  curses a goodnight
Where there is happiness; so sadness prowls
For 2022 I'm humbled, for 1932 I was born ; for 1952 I never forget
Of hundreds I entertained; a Royal  guest I never forget
Of the Uprising that haunted me; a Royal Highness revived me
Upon her arrival, upon her first step, resting on my shaky being ; I  behold my redemption
Favour for favour;  sacred Mugumo for favor
A dusk, a Princesses climbs up my womb, A dawn, a Queen climbs down to reign
Though hated and torched; a royal night revived my existence
no more 'I see lion to pay'; but pay for the Royal one was here
70 years ago,a tribute to my  princess guest Elizabeth ; 70 year now, a tribute to my departed Queen Elizabeth
Forever grateful; a night's sleep was worth

About this poem

A 2022 Poem, where a once small, wildlife lodge, built on top of an old tree, expresses tributes to demise of an old guest, whose visit transformed both of them.
