Amongst Monarchs, Kings And Queens

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

No one stays to remain forever to sit,
Reigning that way ruling over their domain.
Some may and do inherit this status.
As others live to wish something done they do
Gets accomplished to establish it.
Yet...
Only one,
Anointed to a position known to commit.
Their entire life viewed as a fixture.
Of unrelenting poise, grace and charm,
Has proven to be the exception.
With a doing for seven decades,
To continue on.
In a determined permanence,
Unsolicited opinions...
Are more than often wrong.

It has been seventy long years,
The Beloved Queen Elizabeth II.
Has proven what she represents,
Is a tough act to follow.
And no one these days,
Can be unconvinced of it.
And we as human beings,
Are known to forget...
Queen Elizabeth II is also a human being.
But difficult to dispute,
As a Monarch of Monarchs...
She has left her star,
Shining brighter than all the rest.
Defining an Era.
Nearly flawless and error less.

Perhaps not perfect.
Although...
What is perfect to describe?
And what is perfection to compare,
To what Queen Elizabeth II has done...
What has been witnessed,
Most of her life.
And not to choose but to accept.
Reigning over her domain.
Without expressing public regret.
With a dignity, honor and respect.
Given to get.
From many around the World.
To remember and not forget,
Queen Elizabeth II.
Amongst other monarchs.
Queens and Kings.
Forgotten!

Not this Monarch.
Not this,
Bright to glow shining STAR!
