So Many...

So Many...

I was asked if I could choose any time in history to live,
When would I choose?
I personally don't think I belong or fit in this current time,
But honestly I don't think I could choose a specific time.
There are so many things I'd want and could be a part of in history.
There are so many things I could change or stop from happening.
Or prepare us for,
I could stop or prepare us for the Great Depression.
I could stop or prepare us for 9/11.
I could stop or prepare us for Pearl Harbor.
I could stop or prepare us for the current coronavirus pandemic.
I could stop or prepare us for the Oklahoma City bombing.
I could stop or prepare us for the Boston marathon bombing.
I could stop or prepare us for the D. C. snipers.
I could stop or prepare us for the Unabomber.
I could stop or prepare us for the Siege at Waco.
I could stop or prepare us for Ruby Ridge.
I could stop or prepare us for Charles Whitman.
I could stop racism from ever existing.
I could stop slavery from ever happening.
I could stop the JFK and Lincoln assassinations from ever happening.
Same with James Garfield and William McKinley as well.
And Robert Kennedy.
I could possibly break the Kennedy curse before it even becomes a thing.
I could stop what happened at Chappaquiddick from ever occurring.
I could stop the holocaust.
I could stop Hitler’s rise to power,
And save Anne Frank.
There would be no Auschwitz,
Or any other concentration camps.
No Final Solution by the Nazi’s.
I could make women equal to men from the start,
So they'd never have to fight for equal rights.
I wonder if I did go back and try to stop or change these things,
How much would it affect the future?
How much history would it erase or change?
Would there be no civil war?
Would there be no Gettysburg Address?
Would there be no World War Two?
Would Martin Luther King Junior never have to fight for civil rights,
Or deliver his famous I Have A Dream speech?
Would he not be assassinated?
Would there be no Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad?
No Malcolm X or his assassination?
No Rosa Parks or Rodney King incidents?
Maybe history is just that for a reason.
Maybe it shouldn't be messed with.
Maybe it would make everything worse not better.

There are so many things I could know the truth about,
That no one else does,
I could know the truth about the JFK assassination.
Was it a conspiracy?
How many were involved?
Was there a shooter on the grassy knoll?
Was Lee Harvey Oswald the sole shooter?
I could go back and find out.
What about D. B. Cooper?
Did he successfully make the jump from the plane?
What happened after that?
Where did he go?
I could go back and find out.
What happened to Jimmy Hoffa?
No one knows.
I could go back and find out.
Did the Anglin brothers successfully escape from Alcatraz?
If so where did they go?
I could go back and find out.
What happened to Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman?
Did O.J. Simpson really do it?
I could go back and find out,
And get the evidence to get a guilty verdict.
And possibly even stop them from being murdered.
Who shot Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls?
There has always been speculation,
But never anything more.
I could go back and find out.
And possibly even stop them from being murdered.
Who murdered JonBenet Ramsey?
I could go back and find out?
And stop it from happening.
What happened to Amelia Earhart?
I could go back and find out.
What really happened to Frank Goodish?
I could go back and find out.
And get him the justice he deserves.
And possibly stop it from happening.
Who shot Adolfo Bresciano eleven times?
I could go back and find out,
And possibly even stop it from happening.
What really happened to Adam Walsh?
Did Ottis Toole abduct and murder him?
Was it Jeffrey Dahmer?
Or was it someone else?
I could go back and find out the truth.
And maybe even stop it from happening.
Did Jimmy Snuka cause Nancy Argentino's death?
I could go back and find out.
And maybe even stop it from happening.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her daughter,
I could go back and get the evidence that would get the guilty verdict,
And possibly even stop it from happening.
Did Buford Pusser really die from a car crash,
Or was there more involved?
I could go back and find out the truth.
And possibly even stop it from happening.
Who killed Ken McElroy?
I could go back and find out,
And stop it from happening.
I could go back to February 17th, 1970 to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
To the home of the McDonald's Jeffrey, Collette, Kimberly,
And Kristen at 544 Castle Drive.
And find out for sure what really happened.
Was it the group of hippies like he claims,
Or was it really him like the evidence shows?
And I would stop it from happening.
What really happened at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947?
Did a UFO crash?
Was it a weather balloon like the government first said?
Or maybe it was a mogul like the 1994 report said it was?
I’d go back a found out the truth.
There has been and always will be a debate about the existence of Jesus,
I could go back and know for sure.
I could go back and watch the crucifixion,
And even stop it from happening.
I could go back and meet people like Albert Einstein,
And Pablo Picasso.

There are so many ideas or inventions I could come up with first.
Cars, airplanes, television, telephone,
Computer, internet, electricity, the lightbulb,
The list of possibilities is endless.
I could write a bestselling novel or make an award winning film,
Before the person who actually did does it.
I could go back and be the one to invent all the sports,
That we know and love today.
I could go back and stop AIDS from existing.
I could go back and discover chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE),
Way before Bennet Omalu or anyone else knew what it was,
And hopefully that would save athletes that succumbed to it.
I could become a founding father.
I could be a part of things in history,
Like the American Revolution,
The Boston Tea Party,
And the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
I could stop the invention of drugs?
How many lives would that save?
How would that affect music?
So much great music was made when artists were on drugs.
Would none of that music ever be made?

Some say Kurt Cobain didn't kill himself.
I could go back and find out.
And stop it from happening.
There is also speculation about Meriwether Lewis and Vincent van Gogh.
Did they really commit suicide?
I could go back and know the truth.
And stop them from happening.
I could stop other suicides as well.
Robin Williams, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington,
David Carradine, Ernest Hemingway, The Von Erichs',
And Ashley Massaro.
And my father's as well.
I could tell Kobe Bryant and everyone else to not get on the helicopter.
I could go back and stop,
Mark David Chapman from assassinating John Lennon.
I could go back,
And stop Owen Hart from dying from that tragic and unnecessary fall,
At the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri in 1999.
I could go back,
And help stop Chris Beniot from committing double murder suicide.
Who was the Zodiac Killer?
Who was Jack the Ripper?
I could go back and find out,
And stop them before they started.
I could go back and help stop all the serial killers before they started.
There is so much I could be a part of.
There is so much I could know the truth about.
There is so much I could stop or prepare us for.
I could add so much more,
But it’s got to end sometime.

I was asked if I could choose any time in history to live,
When would I choose?
There's so much history I'd love to be a part of,
I couldn't choose just one.
What about you?
When would you choose?
