Search for Meaning

I am looking at the ceiling in the dark
Thinking about life
Is it reality
Or just a simulation
What am I here for
To live or to survive
To do something or let something happen
And what am I surrounded with
Are these people real or just fictional
Why am I trapped here
Why am I forced to live in a certain way
When I didn't ask to be here
Am I living in hell or heaven
In sadness or joy
For real or in fantasy
Am I a story or just a part of it

And then I said to myself that life is what you think of it
My life is not for others
Whether it is real or a fantasy
It is my story and I will write it however I want
I will live it however I want
I didn't ask to be here but I will live the way I like to
Cause I am here for myself
I was born alone and will die alone so why not live alone too
