Scenic Route

We work hard to survive,
but are we even living?
our jobs fill us with pride,
but they are hardly fulfilling.

When will we bet on our self,
in this game called life?
Use our time for true greatness,
Instead of squandering time

I once wanted a rocky road,
filled with a challenging career,
but all it did was left me cold,
and filled me with fear

Perhaps if I majored in english,
I wouldn't be in this scene,
feeling pain in my liver,
and splints in my spleen

I will regain my honor,
if time will allow,
taking the scenic route forever,
for all my endeavors.
