Rainswept memoirs

Umaima Khan 2003 (Hyderabad)

The way this rain hints me a story,
telling me to listen right through.
The way your scent talks to me,
asking me to lay my head on you.
The way these thunders rumble,
screaming to let the past go.
The way your eyes look into mine,
wanting to put time on hold.
Full of forevers and this spring,
the bliss in the wind that you bring,
the smell of the rain that comes along you,
and the dainty words you wrap me up in.
Leaving your footprints on this soul of mine,
they tell me it's a chaotic chime.
The clouds slowly distancing apart,
Love, it's the way you reside in the
shelves of my heart.

Umaima Khan

I am Umaima. A student, writer and a poet, wanting to write to the world, the storm of my thoughts and the blissful tangles in my head. I started writing at an age of 17, when I realized that it helps me let the world know what power my pen holds and what miracles my mind could do. I am a student of engineering and I am interesting in reading books and famous poetry too. In my leisure time, I try to pen down my thoughts and create art using words. more…
