Our "I"

I see through your eye
It's an eye for an eye
Am drawn when our eye align
Your mist lingers over me, we are benign

It calls to me
To fill me whole
Yearning and beckoning
Myself I cannot contemplate

This envy I have not felt
The emptiness I can never melt
Fervent aching from afar
The feeling I was assured by Allah

Sweet shivers run up my spine
The road we fight, you are my spear
We are in alliance
Absorbed, you are in it's defiance

Seconds adjourn infinitely
Sky burns without blinds
Our eyes will meet again

About this poem

The poem is about love and fate. The poet unpacks the dying love that she has for someone who was once her Lover. She quivers over the feeling of emberrable emotions and emptiness; hoping they would meet again.
