MODERN SLAVERY

A ring, a buzz, and a sound
Small as it is, but it can leave one restless
Because it has tentacles-like grip
On the user, the customer, the slave.

Young ones begin the day with it,
and the day too ends with the same
Forget the food, forget the drink
It intoxicates the mind,
It assaults the soul
Oh! What a cruel addiction.

Evil personified in a cell phone
It binds, it thrills and kills.
The archfiend searches for customers
Ah! A beeline of them, hell bent for hell.

An image, a sound and what not
Can throw an innocent mind into confusion
What can save the helpless from this viciousness
The Book, the Cross, and the will.
