Empathys' decline

Lennaert Hohé 1978 (Rotterdam, Netherlands)

August 22

The world is rotting, right down to its core.
Humanity gets forgotten, empathy, gets treated like a whore.

Real democracy is dying, it's on its last leg.
Those who represent us are lying, everytime, we keep losing track.

Profiteers pushing for social justice, expecting others to sin.
Sensing something is amiss, blinded, we still take it all in.

Raging for another's desire, we no longer care but hate.
Our emotions on fire, unchecked, falling for their bait.

Enslaved to the will of evils' agenda, we become unwilling to break free.
Tricked into surrender, committed, for anothers' decreet.

We need to break the chains, end this insanity.
Evil has us waiting in vain, tempted, losing our humanity.

History has taught, our goods' and our bads'.
We are the products of now, aware, the best we could ever have.

Stop the senseless idiocy, condemning men women and all colors alike.
Let go of the lunacy, forgive, let go of this fight.

We have a choice
We are one race, one folk.
We are humans.

Let's not forget our empathy.
